Hub move and Find Apprenticeship Training

Hi all

There are a couple of things this week that we particularly want feconnect users to be are aware of – a new data collection for providers offering apprenticeship training and a Hub move which will mean you need to update your version of FIS later this month…

Data for Find Apprenticeship Training

As you may well have seen in Update this week, we are developing an online find apprenticeship training search facility that employers can use to find apprenticeship standards or frameworks and identify approved providers that can deliver the training. To populate that search facility, we now need information about your apprenticeship provision. We’ve published a user guide and content guidance to explain how to return the apprenticeship data we need through the Course Directory provider portal. For further information, please email support@coursedirectoryproviderportal.org.uk

The Hub

As covered in the July issue of Inform, we will soon move the Hub and the data collections service to a new data centre. This will reduce our ongoing IT running costs and provide us with a scalable platform for the Digital Apprenticeship Service to use.

To complete this work we will close the data collections service from 6pm on Friday 12 August and intend to reopen on Tuesday 23 August. All other services on the Hub will be available during this period. From 23 August, you will automatically be redirected to a new web address where the service will be available. There will be no other changes to the service.

A new version of the Funding Information System (FIS) will be available from 23 August. After that, there will be a period (of at least three weeks) during which FIS users need to update to the new version. We strongly recommend that you accept the update during that period to avoid having to reinstall FIS at a later date. We will publish further reminders and information in due course. In the meantime, please contact the Service Desk if you have any queries on this.

Many thanks

Paul
