    Hi,

Hoping someone can clarify a few things for me. We have enrolled some learners being funding through AEB and we are getting a little confused over the first full level 2 rules etc.

    For example:

This learner is age 19-24 who has stated that it isn’t their first full level 2. In this case am I right in thinking that he is fine and will be co-funded? However, the qualifications he will be completing aren’t on the legal entitlement list does this mean he will not be funded at all?

If the learner was aged 24+ and again the qualifications are not on the legal entitlement list does this mean they will also not be funded? or because of their age they will be funded regardless of if it is their first full level 2/3?

On a another note, if any of these learners are claiming JSA or Universal credit does this then matter if it is their first full level 2/3?

Apologies for all the questions we are just getting our head around it.

    Thanks,

    Lucy

19-24 who already has first full level 2 – co-funded (unless eligible for full funding for another reason). Potentially loan funded on L3

24+ co funded on L2 (unless eligible for funding for another reason), potentially loan funded on L3

If on JSA/ESA/UC etc – then they could be fully funded on L2 because of that. If L3 then this doesn’t apply.

Thanks, if it is the learners first full level 2 and the qualification isn’t on the legal entitlement list then can they not be funded?

If the qual isn’t on the entitlement list, then they can’t be fully funded because of entitlement to L2.

But if the qual is fundable for AEB (adult skills), then they will be co-funded. But maybe fully funded under another reason (ie JSA/ESA etc)

if the qual isn’t fundable under Adult skills, then you could try to look at the rules on local flexibility, otherwise it’s no funding.
