    Good afternoon

Would anyone be able to advise if a study programme learner spans over 2 cohorts and therefore falls into 2 funding bands, is this learner counted twice when calculating your lagged learner number

    Many thanks

    Hi Kate

That’s not quite how it works. Even if a learner has two separate study programmes within an academic year (eg a traineeship moving on to a standard classroom programme) their hours are recorded at learner level in the ILR and therefore totalled for the year for both study programmes. Even if you’re recording the hours separately on your student record system, the system is adding them up and recording it for the learner.

So, no, a learner only ever counts once in the lagged numbers.
