    Hi there

Can any body help with this question?

We are currently delivering Higher & Degree Apprenticeships Standards at level 4 and above, we are asking for our apprentices to supply copies of their Maths & English certificates A to C (or 9 to 4) or functional skills at level 2.

Does the End Point Assessment Organisation need the Maths & English Certificates when claiming the apprenticeship completion certificate from the ESFA. (do we need evidence)?

    Many thanks

    Jo

    Hi Jo,
I expect so as the this is included in the requirements for EPAO’s

    45. You must not assess an apprentice who has not achieved all of the gateway requirements for their apprenticeship or where the rule for minimum duration has not been met. To ensure this is the case you must have in place a process for checking the requirements with the employer and provider and satisfying yourself that the apprentice has met all the requirements. This includes confirming that the apprentice has achieved eligible English and maths qualifications at the appropriate level (unless the apprentice has an exemption).

    They will need the evidence

    Hi Jo,
Cannot put my hands on the original requirements document for EPAO’s but it is also in the current ‘Conditions for organisations on the register of end-point assessment organisations’ as below
    53. For audit purposes, you must retain a record to prove you have seen and checked evidence that the apprentice has achieved the English and maths and that you are satisfied all other gateway requirements have been met.

    Hiya

Just for information a potential apprentice has been asked for £100 for 2 copy certificates, so they have decided to sit functional skills because its cheaper, than getting copies?

    Madness

    Hi Jo,
You can use this as evidence instead of the actual certificate.
Your PLR is your permanent, authoritative online record of your qualifications and achievements. The PLR records general and vocational qualifications such as but not limited to QCF, A levels, GCSEs, BTEC, Diplomas and Functional Skills. The PLR means you should no longer have to show copies of different certificates to learning providers and employers. You can provide this information as a report generated from your PLR.
