Could someone just clarify the rules around english and maths for new starts from 1st May.
We are aware that the standards have to attempt the exam at level 2 before the end point assessment but does this also include those on frameworks, or can they just do level 1 if they do not already have an level 1 equivalent. or just work towards level 2?
Apprenticeship Funding and Performance Management rules for TP para 105 does not seem to distinguish between standards and frameworks as far as I can see, so I am working on the premise that its the same requirement for both
P105. For level 2 apprenticeships where level 2 English or maths are not required for the apprenticeship and the apprentice does not already hold acceptable qualifications (see published list) apprentices must:
105.1. achieve a functional skills qualification of at least level 1 English and maths before taking the end-point assessment or achieving an apprenticeship framework
105.2. start, continue to study and take the test for level 2 English and maths before they complete their apprenticeship: they do not have to achieve English and maths to complete their apprenticeship
