    Asking on behalf of a colleague:

    Do external candidates sitting a GCSE count towards your achievement rates? If the answer is no, can you direct me to anywhere this is written down?

    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    See the QAR guidance where excluded aims include: Learning aims that have not been funded by us (SFA) or the Education Funding Agency, or not financed by an advanced learning loan.

    Agree with Martin about only funded study counting. Plus, if we’ve got students sitting exams with us, but we didn’t teach or fund them, they don’t even go in our ILR, as we don’t think they fit the coverage of the ILR. The statement for non-funded learners is;

    FE colleges must also send details of all learners who are not in receipt of public funding from the SFA or the EFA (apart from learners subcontracted in from a school or Higher Education Institution)

    They’re not “learners” with us.
