    Hi,

We have one learner who is enrolling for university and requires L2 Functional Skills qualifications.
However, she has done her L2 English Functional Skills within 2 years, but she did not achieve. Now she is willing to achieve the qualification and attend learning sessions.

Can we claim funding for it?

    Hi,
You can claim full funding for Maths and English FS where the learner has not already achieved, see the following from the funding rules. This applies to all learners who have not previously attained a GCSE grade A* – C or grade 4, or higher irrespective if they had undertaken the qualification in previous years or have some prior attainment short of the full qualification.

    From the AEB funding rules:
Section 2: The AEB supports legal entitlement to full funding for English and maths, up to and including level 2, for individuals aged 19 and over, who have not previously attained a GCSE grade A* – C or grade 4, or higher.
75.You must not use prior learning to reduce funding for English and maths qualifications up to and including level 2.
