I have been looking at the PDSAT report 17B-003 – Possible duplicate or overlapping learning aims for AEB funding
We run non accredited ESOL aims, which are at entry 1 to entry 3 level. These learners have an overlapping date and seem to show that we have claimed four times the amount of funding for these learners:
Z0004300 -‘Non regulated SFA formula funded provision, Pre-Entry Level, ESOL, 101 to 196 hrs
Our courses have the same non accreditd course aim but they are set up as:
The classes show three steps within Entry 1 and then move to Entry 2.
Can we claim the funding as is for the four lines, as they are seperate stepping stones for the learners OR do we need to apply the apportionment of funding for the 4 aims?
It’s absolutely fine to run like this, it’s not your fault the aims aren’t specific enough! As long as you have clear learning outcomes you can show an auditor so they can see the courses are clearly different, it’s not an issue (i use to have the same with needing to use the same non-reg aim for painting and drawing and sculpture).
