    Could anyone help me with the correct way to point to the 12/13 schema definitions within an XML document please? I’ve entered what I thought was the correct path, but the file won’t validate.

    Thanks

    Within the message node, add the following

    xsi:schemaLocation=”http://www.theia.org.uk/ILR/2011-12/1 ILR-2012-13-Structure.xsd” xmlns=”http://www.theia.org.uk/ILR/2012-13/1″ xmlns:xsi=”http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance”

    Hi Sharon,

    If you are trying to validate using XML editor software you will need to associate the schema by adding its location, this is not required if using the LIS.

    To add the schema location, as an example C:/Work/ Example /Program_Files/2012/ILRSchema/ILR-2012-13-Structure.xsd”>

    To give
    xmlns:xsi=”http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance”
    xmlns=”http://www.theia.org.uk/ILR/2012-13/1″
    xsi:schemaLocation=”http://www.theia.org.uk/ILR/2012-13/1 C:/Work/ Example /Program_Files/2012/ILRSchema/ILR-2012-13-Structure.xsd”>

    This should enable validation by any software that can be used for this purpose

    Thanks for your help, validated and through LIS without too many violations!

    If it helps this is a fairly easy online schema validator, http://www.liquid-technologies.com/FreeXmlTools/FreeXmlValidator.aspx
