If a 19+ Trainee is unlikely to achieve Level 1 functional skills, I have been led to believe that there are bite sized accredited functional skills qualifications that can be delivered and funded as part of the Traineeship. I have looked on LARS and there are lots of entry level functional skills qualifications with different awarding bodies so I’m struggling to establish which one will be relevant.

Can anyone please help me out with this?

    Hi Eleanor,
You should enrol them on the level above that they are assessed at.
If you click on + Additional Filters in LARS and then select in Category: Legal Entitlement -English and Maths
This will return 217 aims on the Qualification Tab
If you select the Units Tab this will indicate 499 individual units you could use.

I’m assuming that as this learner is over 18 the EFA English/Maths condition of funding doesn’t apply, otherwise it’s a much shorter list and you can’t only do units?
